When I heard Willow’s voice warning me she was on the hunt for her calendar cover model, I didn’t think. I tugged Lily by the hand and ran out of the kitchen. Alpine Valley’s fire station is small without a lot of hiding options. It’s the only explanation I have for us ending up in the janitor’s closet.

The space is cramped, filled with cleaning supplies, mop buckets, and towels. But it locks from the inside, and the company isn’t too bad. Her shoulder brushes my arm, making me all too aware how much space we don’t have.

“You really don’t like her, huh?” Lily asks in a tone barely above a whisper. Her breath tickles my bicep.

“I was being honest last night.”

“About Willow?”

This is the moment I could take it all back. Put the distance firmly between us to keep myself from fucking up a good thing with the whole Hansen family. But that kiss changed me in ways I never expected. Lily has haunted my dreams for months, but last night they were on a whole other level entirely.

I’m not just attracted to her.

I think I might be in love with Lily.

The thought of standing idly by keeping my mouth shut until some other guy comes along and sweeps her off her feet fills me with rage. I feel possessive of her, though I have no god damn right to.

“I meant it all,” I say, my low voice nearly a growl.

“I want to believe you,” she says, a hint of defeat in her tone that suggests she’s not fucking with me. She really doesn’t understand how amazing she is. Or how her very presence is the reason my heart is thundering in my chest—not the prospect of being found by Willow or even Josh.

Without another word, I turn to face her now that our eyes have adjusted to the darkness. We don’t dare turn the light on if we want to stay hidden. But I don’t need it to recognize the desire dancing in her eyes. The pull between us is off the charts. I cup her cheek and draw her in for a soft, yet possessive kiss.

She melts into me, fisting my shirt as my tongue presses against her lips until she parts them for me. As our tongues swirl together, I pull her against me. Her tits smash against my chest, and I swear I can feel her hard nipples pressing into me.

“I’m so confused,” Lily whispers against my ear as my lips dive for her neck.

“About what, sweetheart?”

“I have to be dreaming, right? No way Gage Anderson, firefighter calendar cover model with his own fan club who never notices me is grabbing my ass right now.”

“Oh, I’ve noticed you, Lily.” I slide my hand lower on her perfect ass and give it a squeeze. She whimpers, biting down on my shoulder to muffle the sound. “I’ve noticed you from the day you came home from college all grown the fuck up.” I slide a hand beneath her shirt, taking my time as my rough skin glides up her soft back.
